About CakeCake started as a response to rapidly changing technology. Veterans in the field of marketing, we watched companies struggle to keep up with evolving platforms, and saw them dabble without strategy in web development, online advertising, social media, and blogging. They knew they needed a presence, and often jumped into new ventures without taking the time to answer the “why?” They then wondered why they were spending so much time and making little progress toward their goals as a result.

We found that 4 out of 5 CEOs believe their websites are inneffective. We discovered that in order to keep up with the rapid pace of change in marketing technology, it would require a minimum of 8,350 hours a year, or the equivalent of 4 full-time staff members, dedicated solely to technology research. We learned that 82% of Fortune 500 CEOs have “little to no knowledge” of new media.

We also learned that marketing agencies typically rely more on intuition than on quantitative data, and that over two-thirds of firms don’t collect statistics surrounding campaign results on a regular basis.

This made us wonder: how can companies expect reliable results when they aren’t taking the time to research the process? At Cake, we set about to do something different. We gather data, we analyze it, and we create strategies for companies that incorporate the most innovative tools available. We utilize groundbreaking platforms, and stay on top of the latest technologies so that we can bring new ideas to your business.
